Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

City of London Crime Prevention Association & City Security Magazine at IFSEC 2014

The City of London Crime Prevention Association and City Security magazine – as unique as the City itself – are exhibiting at IFSEC International on stand B1920.

The City of London Crime Prevention Association (CoLCPA) plays a key role in the City of London and beyond in leading efforts to defeat crime and terrorism.

One of the most influential CoLCPA initiatives is City Security magazine, supported by its CoLCPA Editor, Eugene O’Mahony and the CoLCPA Editorial Committee, chaired by Don Randall, MBE.

CoLCPA has more than 300 members from across the financial and business sectors. Members enjoy 11 meetings per year, all located at one of the City’s spectacular Livery Halls, covering a wide variety of security-related topics. Recent speakers have included Bill Butler, Chief Executive of the SIA and Professor Keith Still.

“Knowing the risks, understanding what can be done to tackle them and providing members with a network of like-minded professionals are the aims behind the Association”, says Chairman, Don Randall, MBE.

Project Griffin, the Cross-sector Safety and Communications (CSSC) initiative and the Building Security Accreditation scheme have all had significant support from CoLCPA. Their success has been driven by CoLCPA commitment at every level – from the private security sector and from business as a whole.

Publications from the CoLCPA have received wide-spread acclaim. Their range of highly-informative security booklets, written in partnership with security specialists, cover fraud, personal safety, travel security, protest and disorder, office security and Project Griffin.

Membership of the Association is open to representatives from organisations who hold a responsibility for security and who are located within the City of London or have legitimate interests within that area.

City Security magazine was borne out of the newsletter that was sent quarterly to all CoLCPA members and financial organisations in the City of London. Through its success and advertising demand for wider distribution, in 2012 City Security magazine was rebranded and launched nationally.

We are about to publish the 10th edition as a nationwide publication. Now reaching an audience of nearly 8,500 this well-respected magazine aims to promote best practice and innovation in the industry.

Published quarterly and distributed free in the UK, City Security magazine covers a wide range of security related topics to inform the business community. Back issues are available in Flipbook format on the web site.

The magazine features articles from leading security professionals and thought leaders. Recent editions included pieces from Sir David Veness, CBE QPM, City of London Police Commissioner Adrian Leppard QPM and Jeff Little OBE.

Details of membership, future events and publications are available from www.cityoflondoncpa.org.uk.
