PerpetuityARC Training launches Principles of Security Management course

PerpetuityARC Training has launched a course covering the Principles of Security Management.

Through case studies and group work the three-day classroom-based course provides a comprehensive grounding in the essentials of corporate security management.

The Principles of Security Management course is targeted at security managers, security supervisors, multi-tasked managers (for whom security is not their primary role) and anyone seeking a career in security management.

Course content includes:

  • Security risk measurement and management
  • Introduction to security surveying
  • Security design principles
  • Physical security of perimeters and buildings
  • Access management
  • Video surveillance systems
  • Designing loss prevention measures
  • Introduction to investigations

“Our new Principles of Security Management course provides the fundamental knowledge necessary to understand the elements needed to deliver comprehensive security provision and how they interact,” said Sarah Hayward-Turton, head of sales at PerpetuityARC parent company Linx International Group.

The course is the first delivered at PD Ports’ training facilities in Teesside, but learners can also take the course in Southampton, Oxford or Leicester.

PerpetuityARC Training is offering places at the promotional price of £400 (including VAT) per person. The first course will run between 11-13 December 2018, with more dates to be announced.

Advanced Investigation Techniques course gains new accreditation

PerpetuityARC Training’s course in Advanced Investigation Techniques is now accredited to IQ Level 5.

The five-day classroom-based course equips security and HR professionals, general managers and those working in compliance and audit roles with the skills and knowledge required to conduct effective, legally compliant investigations.

The course is suited to professionals employed in the private sector who have completed the Workplace Investigations and Interviewing course (BTEC Level 4) or have some knowledge and experience of workplace investigations and interviews.

The comprehensive syllabus covers: ethics, principles and policy of investigation; incident scene management and evidence recovery; and human factors including interview skills, problem solving and report preparation. Specific topics addressed include:

  • Roles and responsibilities of the advanced investigator
  • Integrity policies and ‘whistleblowing’ considerations
  • Transparency versus confidentiality
  • Investigation structure, accountability and reporting lines
  • Disclosure issues
  • Key legislation
  • Vital forensic principles
  • Cyber issues
  • Early liaison with legal and judiciary advisors
  • The importance of research
  • Types and characteristics of witnesses
  • Identification and recognition of coping strategies
  • Personal resilience, patience and focus
  • Welfare and support

The awarding body, Industry Qualifications, is approved by UK qualifications regulators Ofqual, CCEA, Qualifications Wales and SQA.

The next Advanced Investigation Techniques course takes place between 22-26 July 2019 in Oxford. Non-residential places cost £1995 plus VAT, with 10% discount available if booked more than 12 weeks in advance. PerpetuityARC Training can also deliver the course in-house.
