On Monday May 16 at 11.15am, David Petrook from DVTel will look at the way his company is protecting Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital with an upgraded IP video management system.
The DVTel solution manages data from over 180 IP, HD and analogue cameras, covering the entire hospital complex and displayed on a Central Command video wall.
A presentation from Dallmeier at 1pm is likely to be popular – they’re showing their ‘Panomera’ HD concept. This is how they describe it: “Panomera is a novel camera technology specifically developed for comprehensive surveillance of spacious areas.
“It offers unique panoramic overview with simultaneous real-time recording with 30 images/s, far exceeding the conventional 1080p HD standard. Panomera solves the known operator problem with PTZ cameras of having to choose between overview and detailed view.”
At 1.45pm on the Monday, Jason Burger of Navtech Radar will host ‘Intelligent Detection & Surveillance for Perimeter & Critical Infrastructure’ in Seminar Theatre 1.
He’ll be looking specifically at highways applications, and will look at how his company’s Witness product can be employed in these critical situations.
Assa Abloy is providing two presentations. On Tuesday May 17 at 10.30am Russell Wagstaff will talk about the use of Aperio-enabled locks in Motherwell Concert Hall, while at 4pm on the same day they host ‘An introduction to door safety and security standards’ – where attendees will also have the chance to win an iPad.
Engineers of Tomorrow
On Wednesday the 18th of May at 2.30pm, Simon Banks of CSL DualCom discusses the Engineers of Tomorrow programme, where his company aims to place 100 apprentices into careers within our industry all in 100 days!
Find out how easy it is for your company to benefit from apprenticeships, and take part in this excellent initiative.
At 1.45pm in Seminar Theatre 2 on the Monday of IFSEC, Jamie Wilson of NICE Systems will provide you with the opportunity to “see how organisations have revolutionised their security operations with situational management”.
Another popular session is likely to be ‘Innovation, integration and interoperability at Microsoft’ by Mike Levin, technical program manager at Microsoft Global Security.
And on Tuesday in Seminar 2 at 2.30pm, IndigoVision’s Karen McCarrison will look at IP security and open standards – hot button topics both.
Of course, the huge and amazing highlight of the seminar programme is ‘info4security At The Movies’, in which I’ll show a selection of our favourite ridiculous ‘caught on CCTV’ videos and we’ll give away free beer and popcorn, thanks to the generosity of Axis Communications. That’s on from 3.45pm at Seminar Theatre 1 on Wednesday May 18. Read a bit more about that here.
These are just a sampling of what’s on offer. Click here to get the full seminar programme rundown for Theatre 1, and click here for Theatre 2.
Both seminar theatres 1 and 2 are located in Hall 5 of the IFSEC show. Seats are on a first come, first served basis, so it’s worth getting there a little early to secure a spot.
