A guide that aims to explain CE marking and the implications of the proposed Construction Products Regulation for the industry has been published by the Fire Industry Association.
Factfile No. 37 is designed to explain current implications of CE marking under the Construction Products Directive, and compares them to the requirements of the proposed Construction Products Regulation, under which CE marking – even for products sold solely in the UK – will become mandatory in all member states.
The FIA says the move towards a mandatory requirement has the potential to radically change CE marking in the UK for manufacturers, specifiers, certification and test bodies and regulatory/enforcement authorities.
