A master key system from ASSA ABLOY has been installed at a Munich housing development for heightened security for residents.
The development of 255 apartments close to Nymphenburg Palace Park includes compact units, spacious family homes, and exclusive maisonette rooftop apartments.
Criteria for the Prisma Pasing residential project included doors secured with mechanical cylinders and a master key system which regulates all access authorisations according to individual requirements, down to the level of the individual keyholder.
Developers DEMOS Wohnbau used an ASSA ABLOY CY110 mechanical locking system to equip entrance and apartment doors.
Christoph Kraberg, Business Development Manager Multi-Residential at ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH, said: “CY110 is a genuine, trusted ‘fit and forget’ locking solution, where convenience, flexibility and durability come together.
“The system helps managers create a master key hierarchy which efficiently organises building security.”
The system is designed to combine security, reliability and operation within a single mechanical locking system of around 1,000 cylinders and 2,000 keys.
The cylinders are said to be locked and unlocked using reversible keys made of solid nickel silver to withstand metal fatigue and because the Euro cylinders have a 6-pin technology, the extended lifetime is said to be ‘at least’ 500,000 lock/unlock cycles.
When the system is installed, keyholders only need to carry one key to unlock their entrance and apartment doors but the locking cylinders also offer a high level of burglary protection with respect to manual opening techniques, like picking, bumping and pulling.
