A new electronic locking system featuring an advanced chip and 128-bit AES encryption has been launched by ASSA ABLOY.
The eCLIQ system aims to offer high security and resistance to electronic attack. It is designed to ensure quick and secure communications between lock and key, while the cylinders and programmable keys have been built to withstand harsh weather conditions.
ASSA ABLOY says the system enables security managers to easily update access authorisations and quickly revoke keys, eliminating the time and money spent on changing lock cylinders and re-cutting keys. The system also offers time or area restricted authorisations – for example, contractors could be given access rights for the duration of a specific job.
The locking system meets DIN 15684 and VdS 2156-2, the cylinders can operate in temperatures of -250C to 850C, and keys are IP67-rated. Cylinders can remain maintenance-free for up to 200,000 cycles, thanks to their integrated lubrication reservoirs.
Straightforward installation
Installation is said to be straightforward and there’s no need for wiring, as cylinder electronics are powered by standard batteries inside the keys.
With features such as adjustable Euro profile cylinders providing a minimum length of 28mm and centred keyway, eCLIQ can be fitted to doors or other openings without alteration. The range includes components for padlocks, mailboxes, and alarm systems.
“Our CLIQ technology has already proven itself by securing buildings all over the world,” said Simon Wilson, national sales manager at ASSA ABLOY.
“eCLIQ is the next step for this technology, delivering a fully electronic locking system for industrial businesses, museums, event venues, public administration buildings and educational institutions. For any organisation needing a powerful locking system, eCLIQ provides a secure, flexible solution with minimum fuss.”
