New service controls security and access as well as fire safety

Fire design and installation company, Fire Design Solutions (FDS), has launched a new service that promises to  manage the installation and interface of security alarms and access controls as well as fire systems.

Gerard Sheridan from FDS said: “Often the fire and security systems for a building are designed and installed separately by two completely different companies.

“Not only does this impede an intelligent response to integrating the two systems from a design perspective, it can also result in interface problems so that even basic levels of integration don’t work effectively.

“By putting fire, security and access controls into the hands of a single, experienced design and installation team like FDS, clients can benefit from a seamlessly integrated fire and security system that makes the building safer, more secure and easier to manage.”

The new service includes design, installation and maintenance of the fire and security systems. FDS’s fire alarm systems have been designed to constantly monitor the building’s environment for any signs of combustion.

Sheridan said this approach should save time and reduce the number of contractors needed to work on a build.

“We have a reputation for developing systems that answer the present and future needs of the industry and we’re committed to continuing our investment," he said.

“Our new turnkey fire and security service brings that same innovative approach to our service offering, focusing on the benefits that can be brought to our clients by integrating design and installation of fire and security systems to offer a streamlined, intelligent approach.”
