SMARTAIR now available to security installers

ASSA ABLOY Access Control has announced the availability of SMARTair to professional security installers.

Available in offline and wireless online versions, SMARTair is an end-to-end, battery-operated system that uses radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader technology.

With the RFID reader and locking mechanism housed in one device, SMARTair is suitable for most types of interior and exterior doors, as well as turnstiles, barriers, elevators and more.

Batteries need replacing after around 70,000 cycles.

ASSA ABLOY believes SMARTair is well-suited to the education sector because doors can be locked and unlocked at allotted times and dates plus cards can be issued, invalidated and updated in real time.

The audit trail function, which provides detailed attendance records, also makes SMARTair suitable for care home owners and operators.

“SMARTair is an access control solution that has been tried and tested over many years, and we are very excited to make this versatile system available through ASSA ABLOY Access Control,” said Alan Kent, access control manager. “Its adaptability makes it ideal for a number of sectors, including education and healthcare.

“Security installers can take advantage of the adaptability offered by SMARTair, as well as UK-based technical training and support, marketing and expert back up from the ASSA ABLOY Access Control team.”
