Taking control

Compliant with DD243
Whether you require a 12-zone or 256-zone system, Castle Care-Tech can supply a suitable panel from the Euro-MERiDIAN range. Fully compliant with DD243 requirements, the range provides ‘End of line’ or ‘iD’ solutions to your problem. Full hardware consistency across the range is reflected by total consistency of programming and operation. Existing installed units may be upgraded for DD243 compliance.
The range includes:

  • Euro-12: the brand new ‘baby’ of the range (EoL)
  • Euro-22: the established 22 zone EoL panel
  • Euro-28: the equivalent 28 zone iD control
  • Euro-44+: 44 zones expandable to 256, EoL, iD or mixed.

Main features include: LCD keypad with built-in tag reader; SMS text messaging; full up/download capability; calibrated diagnostics; and automatic remote maintenance.

Common peripherals!
Scantronic’s Hybrid range comprises a family of control panels with common peripherals that facilitate easier system design using 868 radio technology and remote diagnostics and are ACPO and DD243 compliant.
The 9751, 9752 and 9851 are capable of protecting up to 40 zones using hardwired or wirefree expansion modules and are suitable for domestic or small to medium-sized commercial applications. All three models also share common programming, making it easy to switch between them to suit the application.
Hardwired peripherals include the 9928 keyswitch interface for momentary and latched switches, the 9930 LCD keypad and the 9954 HWX hardwired expander.
The wirefree peripherals include the 9955 RFX wirefree expander, 715 PIR, 719r photoelectric smoke detector, 725r remote setting device, 726r two-button PA transmitter, 735r door contact and 747r signal test meter and test transmitter.
The wirefree peripherals operate on a specific radio frequency. 868MHz narrowband is a dedicated frequency for intruder alarms to avoid problems of interference from other radio services or radio stations.
The panels have all the necessary programming options and functions to allow sequential alarm reporting and alarm confirmation.

Simplified operation
ADE has simplified the operation of its Optima and Accenta G3 control panels with an optional proximity tag reader unit. The SIMPLE SET features a contactless transponder reader interface enabling users to simply set and unset the control panel by holding the transponder close to the reader.
The reader offers an ACPO compliant single set/unset action. It is also easier to use, especially by young people, the elderly or infirm.
The SIMPLE SET can be fitted into newly installed G3 panels and can also be retro-fitted into existing installations. Its dimensions are similar to the Accenta keypad and it is compatible with MK’s Logic Plus range of wiring accessories.
Retrofit connections to the panel are via an eight-core cable with onboard relay outputs connected to a designated input on the panel and pre-programmed as a keyswitch input. New installations are connected to the panel via six-core cable.
The reader has an LED display and audible indicators, and supports up to eight uniquely numbered keyfobs.

All on one screen
Pima Electronic Systems of Israel has launched a user-friendly LCD keypad that displays what is claimed to be a unique feature in panels.
The One-Screen 16 Zone Status Bar enables the end user to view the zone status, such as open, closed, bypass or armed, at a glance.
The LCD display also allows the installer to programme up to eight functions in one menu-driven screen.

Smart control
From Visonic comes a programmable wireless security system which, it is claimed, gives hassle-free installation of a lifestyle management system for smart homes and offices.
The PowerMax home automation system enables users to take full control of the system’s capabilities remotely via mobile or touch-tone phones or locally via a sophisticated but simple intelligent control panel.
Using the company’s patented CodeSecure technology to ensure secure remote arming and disarming, the Visonic PowerMax controls security alarms, lighting, heating, CCTV monitoring, water and gas leak alarms, plumbing and outdoor irrigation systems.
It also provides social care and elderly assistance as well as managing TV and entertainment devices, telephones, fax, PC, internet and other household appliances.
An invaluable feature allows pets to walk freely through the home without setting off false alarms.
And a latchkey mode enables parents to be notified when the children arrive home from school.

Star performance from Galaxy
Ademco-Microtech boosted the performance of its Galaxy control panels with ACPO-compliant V2.1 software. Any existing Galaxy panels using V1.18, V1.25 or V1.27 can be upgraded with a simple PROM replacement.
The Galaxy 8, 18, 60, 500, 512, 128 and 504 panels can all benefit from enhanced system performance.
Panel features include an increased MAX log size which is now the same as the event log, signalling of access type events, keyswitch instant zone setting, ready-to-arm indication and event programming, enabling each zone to be given an event code.
Ademco-Microtech also offers Galaxy Gold up/download software, remote PC alarm monitoring software and Security Director’s Gold software, which enables managers to access and interrogate panels without changing engineer settings.

Wide range of options
The Nexus 8 from Lynteck gives eight fully programmable zones, each with an individual tamper. Up to four remote keypads can be used on each installation.
Features include a 64-event log, up to eight four-digit access codes, full set/part set options and two panic attack buttons on the top of the keypad which, when pressed together, activate the panic alarm regardless of system status.
Our Bench Testers were impressed when they took a look at the panel: “It provides flexibility at a very reasonable price … It has eight fully programmable zones and a wide range of options not generally found in systems designed for the domestic and small commercial market sectors. Installation and programming are simple.”

Strategic partners
Pyronix and Castle Care-Tech exhibited together at IFSEC after signing a Strategic Partner Agreement. MDs Julie Kenny of Pyronix and Tony Lamb of Castle said they saw the alliance as providing complementary strengths to their respective independent companies.
Pyronix’s range includes the Matrix 832+ which offers up/downloading with partitioning. The Matrix is a fully flexible modular system that offers the installer a complete package including certified engineer training, dedicated technical support, and comprehensive sales and marketing backup.
