Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

AI, network security and extended warranties among talking points at IDIS Summit

The growing importance of AI, network security and extended warranties were among the subjects discussed at a recent gathering of security and video surveillance specialists.

Hosted by IDIS in Seoul, South Korea, the summit also covered innovations in recording and camera technology and the need for increasingly powerful VMS capabilities.

And the summit, which was set up to discuss drivers likely to shape the global video surveillance market over the next three years, examined the role of secure design and manufacturing in preventing ‘backdoors’ from being built into products.

On the same theme, IDIS championed how its proprietary protocols can harden network security.

IDIS deep learning analytics

Delegates from around the world also saw the second iteration of IDIS Deep Learning Analytics (IDLA) in action. Version 2.0 IDLA achieves – with no extra processing power required – an accuracy of 96% and a speed of up to 200ips permitting analysis of 32 channels simultaneously, according to IDIS.

IDIS will release IDLA users access to both standard and advanced analytical functionality, such as appearance searching, through a single licence

IDIS will release IDLA early next year and give users access to both standard and advanced analytical functionality, such as appearance searching, through a single licence.

Innovative, large scale projects in key IDIS markets, including in the Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States, were examined too.

Latest trends

Now in its third year the two-day annual summit was also a chance for partners to optimise their marketing and media strategy, discuss the latest trends and ideas for product development and improving technical support.

Founded in 1997 IDIS is Korea’s largest video surveillance manufacturer with more than 100 strategic partners regional operations now expanding across over 50 countries.

Concluding the summit, IDIS Chief Executive Officer, YD Kim, presented 2018 Business Partner Awards to Avix (Russia), Trinet (Singapore) and Red Office (Bangladesh) in recognition of their commitment to a close partnership and their outstanding performance over the last year.

“Our three award winners, and indeed all our partners attending this summit, demonstrate that the surest route to success is always through collaboration,” said Joon Jun, President of the IDIS Global Business Division.

“Gathered at this summit we have a level of expertise that is unrivalled in our sector, and we share a commitment to giving our customers the very best in video surveillance solutions. Knowing this, we can all look with great confidence to the year ahead.”
