The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) is inviting the fire industry to nominate examples of excellence in passive fire protection for this year’s Passive Fire Protection Industry Awards.

Having launched two categories last year the ASFP has now added three further categories. Here are the five categories to which you can submit nominations – including for your own work:

  • Passive Fire Protection Advocate of the Year: Individuals must demonstrate advocacy of high quality installed PFP in the 2018 calendar year. The nomination, which is open to anyone working in the built environment, should include evidence that the individual has raised awareness, educated responsible persons and the fire industry and promoted best practice in passive fire protection.
  • Fellowship of the ASFP: Open to ASFP members only, this will be awarded to an individual who has frequently excelled during the 2018 calendar year with functional, technical and strategic contributions to the advancement of ASFP. Leadership and long-term awareness of the industry’s needs must be demonstrated too.
  • Member Contribution of the Year: ASFP members who have participated directly in ASFP events such as speaking at the seminars, attended meetings and who have actively engaged and supported ASFP throughout 2018.
  • Passive Fire Innovation of the Year: ASFP member companies with an innovative, exceptional passive fire protection product or service – such as an installation method, new software or a new product. Nomination should include evidence, impact and availability of the product/service during the 2018 calendar year.
  • Best Installation Project: ASFP members who have overcome difficulties encountered during an installation project (access, special site requirements, challenging conditions, product difficulties); installed to a high quality; and have documentation to show that the installation has been verified e.g. by a third party and testimonials from satisfied clients.

All nominations – which again, can be self-nominations – should provide evidence of activities, products and services undertaken during the 2018 calendar year.  Download the appropriate nomination forms for completion. The closing date for all nominations is Friday 28 September 2018.

The winners will be announced on Friday 7 December 2018 at an awards lunch held in the Plaisterers Hall, London. The event, which attracts over 150 ASFP members, guests and industry partners, will be hosted by BBC broadcaster Steph McGovern.
