FIRE SAFETY on construction sites

Bull Products adds Exclusion Zone Alarm System to Cygnus wireless alarm range

Bull Products, which develops fire protection equipment for construction sites, has introduced to its Cygnus wireless alarm range a feature that alerts workers to danger and prevents access into dangerous exclusion zones.

The Exclusion Zone Alarm System can help keep workers or pedestrians away from dangerous areas where a plant is being operated or crane and lifting operations are underway, and from dangerous out-of-bound locations.

Positioned around the exclusion area, activated alarm units sound continuously until the area is no longer considered dangerous.

The Cygnus radio fire alarm system has been designed for use on construction sites, where variable site conditions and environments pose more exacting performance criteria for radios than can be met by standard wireless fire alarm systems.

Interfacing directly with the Cygnus Alarm System, the Exclusion Zone Alarm System can be monitored and/or activated via the control panel where a full history log can be viewed. Beam detectors can also be linked in order to trigger alerts when the beam is broken by a trespasser.

“Establishing exclusion zones on a construction site is key to protecting workers as their lives are still at risk during operation,” said Bradley Markham, director at Bull Products.

“Our Exclusion Zone Alarm System is clearly visible and will ensure that workers and pedestrians are alert of those high-risk areas, so they can avoid entering them in the first place.

“The system allows us to go that extra mile to provide a safer working environment and ensure health and safety is a top priority.”
