SHUTTLE INTELLIGENT FIRE DOOR RETAINER

Bull Products launches automatic fire door closing device for construction sites

Bull Products has launched a device for construction sites that automatically closes fire doors during an emergency.

The Shuttle Intelligent Fire Door Retainer provides a remedy for the common problem of multiple fire doors being propped open during construction work.

It’s illegal to prop fire doors open with door stops or any other object that will not automatically close the door if fire breaks out. The Shuttle Intelligent Fire Door retainer therefore helps construction companies comply with their legal obligations and keep people safe.

The device incorporates dual listening technology that learns and reacts only to the installed fire alarm’s specific acoustic signature – all other alarms and sounds are disregarded. The device can be set to operate at specific times and dates and features an easy night release function and fault reader.

“According to HSE, each year there are a number of serious fires on construction sites and buildings undergoing refurbishment – many of which could be avoided by careful planning and control of work activities,” said Bradley Markham, director at Bull Products.

Bull Products, which develops fire protection equipment for construction sites, also recently introduced to its Cygnus wireless alarm range a feature that alerts workers to danger and prevents access into dangerous exclusion zones.

This device looks a lot like the “Dorgard” system, what makes this different?
