A fire in a 16-storey tower block was caused by an electrical fault, fire service investigators have found.
Around 50 firefighters tackled the blaze, which broke out on 14 February in a first-floor flat of a tower block in Newcastle Hill, Ramsgate. One woman, who fell from her first-floor flat, was taken to hospital, while four other people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said that thanks to some aggressive firefighting, crews managed to contain the fire to the affected flat, extinguishing the blaze in around half an hour. Firefighters then spent a further hour ventilating the smoke-logged building.
