EVAC-ALERT by C-TEC to headline sponsor the Construction Fire Safety Conference on Wednesday 14th October

C-Tec-EVACAlertlogo-20FIREX International and The Tall Buildings Fire Safety Network are delighted to announce that EVAC-ALERT by C-TEC will be the headline partner of the Construction Fire Safety Conference, taking place online on 14th October 2020.

The conference is chaired by Martin Wilshire, Safety Director at Multiplex, and is recognised by the Institution of Fire Engineers as a valuable source of CPD points. Focusing on a range of key issues relating to strategic, evidence-based approaches to fire safety measures in tall buildings, the conference will provide a series of keynote presentations and panel debates delivered by leading experts from the fire safety engineering, construction and property management sectors.

The conference is also timed to coincide with the publication of the UK’s Draft Building Safety Bill and will be one of the first direct opportunities for delegates to hear expert opinion and reflections on the potential implications the subsequent legislation will have for building owners and fire safety professionals.

C-TEC-EvacAlert-20C-TEC’s new EVAC-ALERT system can be customised to create a simple-to-use and cost-effective BS 8629-compliant solution in high-rise residential buildings.

Housed in a robust vandal-resistant locked cabinet accessible only by the FRS in an emergency, the control panel is said to feature an intuitive interface, bright LED indicators and easy-to-operate toggle switches for each evacuation zone. Each panel can connect to an array of evacuation alert devices including self-testing sounders, visual alert devices and even vibrating devices and pagers to alert the deaf, hard of hearing or mobility impaired. Highly flexible, EVAC-ALERT is comprised of EN54-2/4 third-party certified components and can be used to create building-specific evacuation alert systems in consultation with the relevant FRS.

Andy Scott, Project Director at C-TEC, said: “As a leading manufacturer of world-class life-safety systems, C-TEC has an enviable reputation for delivering high-quality standard-compliant solutions at a competitive price. We’ve utilised our time-tested technology and expertise to create EVAC-ALERT, a system specifically designed to meet the exact requirements of BS 8629 and one which is certain to be of interest to landlords, property managers and local authorities that are keen to ensure their buildings fully comply with this new standard. We are excited to be aligned with the Construction Fire Safety Conference and we welcome this opportunity to improve the knowledge and awareness of compliant life safety technologies’’.

Gerry Dunphy, Event Director of FIREX International states: ‘’C-TEC has been a supporter and partner of FIREX for several decades, so it’s highly appropriate they are the headline partner for the Construction Fire Safety Conference. They have an incredibly strong reputation for delivering premium quality, compliant life safety technologies which is entirely in keeping with the spirit of FIREX and the conference.’’
