Around 50 firefighters battled a massive blaze at an abandoned church in Suffolk last week (7 March).
The fire broke out at St Michael’s Church in Ipswich a little before 10 pm.
In the end, 16 fire appliances were called to the scene and the fire brought under control at 12.30 am.
The building, which is made up of two floors measuring 50 m by 20 m, is still standing despite a partial collapse. It was listed and dated back to the 1880s, local newspapers said.
A safety cordon was erected around the building, according to Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, which reported the incident via its Facebook page.
An investigation into the cause is now underway.
