Painting workshop damaged in Richmond College blaze

Around 20 firefighters attended a fire at Richmond College, Twickenham, last week.

The blaze, which took place in a single storey workshop used by painting and decorating students, broke out around 3 am on 23 March.

An estimated 15% of the building was damaged by fire. It took firefighters around two hours to put out.

College caretaker Martin Zabrowski told This is Local London that gas cylinders and paint nearby had been a serious concern. Crews used two jets and a hose reel to extinguish flames.

The incident is now under investigation.
