The Future of Fire – Inaugural Women Talking Fire Conference to run in November

Tickets are now available for the inaugural Women Talking Fire Technical Conference, taking place in Leeds on 16 November 2023. 

WomentalkingFire1TranspDesigned to inspire, inform and develop delegates, the event will feature a series of presentations from industry experts and will be hosted by Fire Engineer, Jude Evans.

With a keynote by three-time national award-winning Fire Engineer, Mandy Youssef, the event will also welcome speakers covering the following topics:

  • Planning Gateway One – Fire Safety at the Planning Stage: Mark Wilson, Operational Lead for Policy and Planning Gateway One at the Building Safety Regulator
  • Legal Pitfalls: Hannah Eales, Fire Safety Lawyer and Partner at Kingsley Napley LLP
  • Behaviour Research Roadmap: Mary Button, Senior Fire Engineer at Delta Fire Engineering
  • Why the Public Respond in Emergencies – A Behavioural Science Approach: Dr Anne Templeton, Senior Lecturer in Social Psychology at the University of Edinburgh

There will also be a panel discussion exploring materials in fire with Jenny Burridge, Head of Structural Engineering at The Concrete Centre, and Susan Deeny, Fire Safety Engineering Associate Director at Arup.

The Conference is being held in the ballroom of the Queens Hotel, Leeds, close to Leeds train station to make it accessible for those travelling by train.

In addition, there will be a pre-Conference welcome dinner held the night prior, sponsored by Catalyst and K L Connections.

The Women Talking Fire team is encouraging fire professionals to come and talk, listen and learn together!
