‘Comings and goings’ at the NSI

Mike Lynskey, Security Installer‘s popular columnist, is joining the NSI as Network Manager covering the north of England and Alex Volossevich, Director of Corporate Affairs, will be leaving the NSI to emigrate to Australia to be with other members of his family.
Volossevich joined NACOSS in 1992 as Commercial Manager in Charge of Finance, Applications and Marketing. He was the first management level appointment with a pure business background and qualifications.
He soon became known as the external face of NACOSS, sitting on committees at SITO, SILB, CBI and many others. He was also a mainstay of NACOSS’s presence at shows and exhibitions al over the country, including Security Installer‘s popular series of roadshows.
Away from the spotlight he has been heavily involved in new initiatives to change the face of NACOSS (and later NSI) as well as the recently introduced ICON scheme with the aim of making the organisation more attractive and approachable to installers.
In a statement NSI said his unexpected departure from his role of Director of Corporate Affairs will “leave a large hole that will be difficult to fill”.
His final project at the NSI before deciding to look for new opportunities in Australia was setting up a team, of Network Managers. The appointment of Mike Lynskey is the third and final appointment in the team.
Lynskey has been in the industry 25 years. He is a former locksmith and alarm installer who has fitted over 1,000 security systems.
For many years he ran his own installation and locksmithing company. For the last ten years he has been a tutor and an SSAIB inspector.
Says the NSI: “Mike has probably become best known for his regular and often hard hitting column in Security Installer magazine. Mike’s ability to ‘tell it like it is’ in language that all branches of the industry can understand has made his column among the most popular in the security press.”
