Hanwha Techwin has launched three Samsung Wisenet P cameras equipped with 4K resolution, H.265 compression and a new compression technology.
WiseStream, which dynamically controls encoding to trade-off quality and compression according to movement within the image, slashes bandwidth and storage demands to levels normally associated with lower resolution, full HD H.264 cameras.
Combined with H.265 compression WiseStream boosts bandwidth efficiency by up to 75% compared to the H.264 technology deployed in most modern video surveillance systems.
Digital auto tracking
The new Wisenet P cameras also boast digital auto tracking, which can be used to detect moving objects or people during periods of low activity, such as nighttime. In common with the Wisenet Q 2MP and 4MP cameras launched last year, they also feature IR illumination and defocus detection, which recognises when a camera is out of focus, as well as true wide dynamic range, hallway view and lens distortion correction.
“The sharpness and clarity of 4K cameras need to be seen to be believed, but they can come at a cost,” said Chris Parry, country manager for the UK and Ireland at Hanwha Techwin Europe. “Multi-pixel, high definition images can quickly fill up the capacity of an NVR or server when recorded at full frame rate and resolution.
“The good news is that Hanwha Techwin design engineers have cleverly solved this problem by developing our unique WiseStream technology.”
The three models in the Wisenet P series are:
PNO-9080R: 4K IR Bullet camera
PND-9080R: 4K IR Dome camera
PNV-9080R: 4K Vandal resistant IR Dome camera
