The announcement from Hikvision UK & Ireland will make for a more convenient user experience compared to environments where ANPR and access systems operate in silos.
Users needn’t leave their vehicle to open a gate or barrier thanks to the integration. Car registration numbers captured by the Hikvision system can be associated with the vehicle owner’s Net2 credential, either an entry card or key fob through multiple formats that use the Wiegand interface.
Paxton says Net2, which provides centralised management of sites ranging from one to hundreds of doors and thousands of users, is being installed in 150 buildings it every week.
“Hikvision are global leaders in surveillance solutions and automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) is being widely used across the UK and growing from strength to strength,” said Peter Ma, technical lead for Hikvision UK & Ireland. “This partnership takes both Hikvision’s and Paxton’s expertise and knowledge in their respective fields and applies this into a solution that will take our ANPR solution to a new level.
“Knowing we have fully integrated our hardware with Paxton’s software will give installers and end users piece of mind that the solution is partnership of knowledge. It has been developed to make the experience for the installer and end user as seamless as you would expect, with none of the usual compatibility and integration issues.”
Gareth O’Hara, chief sales officer at Paxton, said: “Our market-leading Net2 access control is built upon the foundations of being easy to install, configure and operate, whilst Hikvision are a company which pride themselves on product innovation.
“We feel this combination of expertise has provided an ideal integrated solution to suit the needs of installers.”
