In claiming the iF Design Award, which has been running since 1954, the camera was among 65 winners from 6,402 entries from 54 countries.
The Red Dot Award, which was also established in the 1950s, judged the contenders on “ease of use, high level of functionality, attractive appearance and compatibility with the environment.”
The iF Design Award judges were impressed by the camera’s “sleek, ergonomic construction”. The camera’s horizontally placed lens and IR are designed to reduce camera height and prevent diffuse reflection during tilt moving.
Judges noted how this design feature enhanced ease of use and how smoothly the lens head moved.
The PTZ also offers the following features:
31x AF optical zoom lens (f=6.5 – 202mm)
4K UHD resolution
Two-way audio
Built-in heater
PoE
IDIS Intelligent Codec
MAT (motion adaptive transmission) technology, cutting storage and bandwidth by up to 90%
“The IDIS development team is delighted with these international awards because they recognise the importance that we give to product excellence in surveillance,” said James Min, managing director for IDIS Europe. “Our aim is to continually improve on the design, quality and performance of our products and to lead innovation whenever we can.”
