IFSEC Southeast Asia 2016: the stellar UK security brands you can expect to see

ifsec southeast asia

British physical security companies have an impressive international reputation.

Here’s a guide to the UK brands visitors to this year’s IFSEC Southeast Asia can expect to see.

Taking place between 7-9 September 2016 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, IFSEC Southeast Asia is the region’s leading security, fire and safety event.

More than 350 companies from 42 countries will showcase their latest products and technology to around 10,000 international trade visitors. Visitors will also have the opportunity to network with industry peers, discuss the future development of the industry and obtain new information from the region’s most comprehensive conference programme.

The conference programme will see industry experts discuss 29 different topics over the course of the show, including discussions on cyber security, critical infrastructure protection, perimeter protection, terrorism, smart cities and the internet of things, enabling visitors to learn more on a wide variety of industry issues.

This year will also see the inclusion of four national pavilions with the UK Pavilion being the only European representation. The UK Pavilion has once again been organised by the BSIA as an approved trade organisation for the security sector, helping UK security exporters exhibit under the Great Britain brand.

“UK security companies enjoy an enviable global reputation for their expertise in producing innovative products and services, which meet stringent quality standards and are trusted by buyers around the world,” says Daren Wood, membership and export services manager at the BSIA. “The UK Pavilion provides international visitors with a focal point to view the latest technology from UK brands who are globally renowned for their quality, integrity and innovation.”

UK exhibitors you can see at IFSEC southeast Asia 2016

Concept Smoke Screen Limited – UK Pavilion stand UK02

Leading smoke screen manufacturer, Concept Smoke Screen Limited, will be exhibiting two products in Kuala Lumpur for the very first time – The Smoke Screen Sentinel range and the Smoke Screen Titanium. The Smoke Screen Sentinel range is designed and manufactured as a permanent security solution that can be integrated into an existing intruder alarm or installed as a stand-alone system and comprises some of the most advanced security smoke generators in the world.

The Titanium range embraces digital communication as well as the more conventional analogue and represents a paradigm shift in the way smoke screen generators operate. Located in the UK Pavilion, Concept Smoke Screen will be offering live demonstrations of the smoke screen on their stand, giving visitors the opportunity to enter a sealed booth and experience first-hand the obscuring power of smoke screen security fogging systems. The smoke is completely harmless, but impossible to see through.

Carl Gibbard, Chairman of Concept Smoke Screen Limited, says: “In July last year, I was fortunate to be part of a UKTI sponsored Trade Mission to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. It became very clear to me that this was a region that is open for business. There may be geographical and cultural differences, but crime is international. It was important for us to be able to demonstrate Smoke Screen to security professionals and prospective end-users. IFSEC Southeast Asia provides the perfect venue for us to showcase our products.”

TDSi – UK Pavilion stand UK01

TDSi, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of integrated access control systems will be showing its new GARDiS web-based application, which offers greater flexibility and suitability to modern applications, whilst maintaining the highest levels of security and dependability.

The GARDiS range is built around an ONVIF Profile A and C compliant platform, which has recently been adopted by the IEC as the de-facto new international standard for access control. This makes GARDiS highly compatible with many other systems and suppliers, as well as being significantly future-proof.

TDSi will also be offering visitors to IFSEC Southeast Asia a sneak preview of how the system centralises input from numerous security and buildings management systems to give the operator a comprehensive real-time view of any situation, wherever they are based in the world. Also on TDSi’s stand, visitors will be able to view the latest TDSi readers, which provide MIFARE Classic, Plus and DESfire, NFC, PIN and Proximity Card compatibility for greater flexibility of use and enhanced security.

The new readers provide straightforward installation, practicality and integration with most security systems, whilst being impervious to heavy use and extremes of weather. The readers are easily visible and intuitive to use, whilst designed to attractively fit in with any other surroundings.

TDSi recently won Phase 2 of a project for Brunei Telecom, across 26 sites. This involves integrated access control using TDSi’s VUgarde VMS solution, in conjunction with Texecom’s intruder systems, Time and Attendance and TDSi’s DIGIgarde readers, which offer the flexibility of PIN, MIFARE+ and fingerprint authentication options. The new project Phase builds upon 25 sites which were completed during Phase 1 last year.

Managing Director of TDSi and Chairman of the BSIA’s Export Council, John Davies, says: “Southeast Asia is a hugely important region for the UK security industry. It includes impressively growing markets including Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the event’s host nation, Malaysia. IFSEC Southeast Asia is the key event for UK security exporters looking to embrace these exciting markets, bringing together the best we have to offer with local security installers, specifiers and increasingly, the customers themselves. TDSi is excited and proud to be appearing on the UK Pavilion this year.”

Texecom Ltd – stand K518

Texecom is Europe’s largest independent security alarm specialist providing bespoke design solutions that protect people and property throughout the world. Texecom will be showcasing its flagship product range, the Premier Elite Series, which provides a single, comprehensive security system architecture that scales from the smallest and simplest security applications through to the largest and most complex.

Offering a choice of system size, housing types and offering both wired and wireless connectivity, there is a Premier Elite control system to suit almost any application. With Ricochet mesh technology, Premier Elite Systems offer superior wireless security options and an acclaimed range of wired, wireless and hybrid system solutions. Ricochet® enabled wireless devices receive and repeat wireless transmissions from other devices.

The size, scalability and range of the entire system are extended as wireless signalling is no longer limited by point-to-point communications. The range of a Ricochet enabled wireless system is greater than previous systems, with multiple devices capable of relaying messages to and from even the most remote locations in a building.

New at IFSEC Southeast Asia, the introduction of Texecom Connect opens up a new world of possibilities for Texecom security systems. For too long, security systems have been separated and isolated from the outside world – only providing information when the worst happens, confusing and intimidating to the very people who use them and lacking connectivity and compatibility with external systems that could benefit from the intelligence and information contained within.

With Texecom Connect, everything changes. Texecom Connect provides three new connectivity options to add value to any Premier Elite system, and to interface with leading 3rd party solutions: Texecom Connect App – new smartphone application for Android and iOS operating systems, Texecom Connect Hub –new video verification and home automation expander, Texecom Connect API – protocol to interface and integrate with 3rd party solutions.

Clym Brown, Marketing Director, Texecom Ltd, says: “Texecom is obsessive about providing world-class protection for people and property everywhere. As an independent, UK-based designer and manufacturer of professional grade electronic security and emergency signalling systems, Texecom’s portfolio protects a wide range of applications. Exhibiting at IFSEC Southeast Asia showcases our solutions to the Southeast Asia market and beyond.”

Their niche technology includes: outdoor wireless network solutions optimised for video surveillance, hybrid power solutions using energy from solar panels and wind turbines, and mobile surveillance solutions for commercial and public transport.

Wavesight outdoor wireless CCTV solutions offer a genuine alternative to cable or fibre connections between the camera or remote NVR/DVR and the control room. Using standards-based OFDM technology with proprietary security features operating on license exempt frequency bands, Wavesight wireless links and networks can be deployed rapidly and provide extremely low latency, high quality video ideally suited to modern security and surveillance installations.

At IFSEC Southeast Asia, Wavesight will be showcasing a range of products, including the Scorpion S300 and Firefly. The Scorpion S300 delivers a professional grade wireless bridging solution, optimised for data and CCTV services, capable of data rates up to 300Mbps, at a range of up to 2km.

Firefly is the latest addition to Wavesight’s range of high-performance, licence exempt, wireless CCTV links and has been optimised as a cost-effective solution for short-range (up to 500m) point-to-point applications delivering up to 150Mbps data rates.

David Saldanha, Managing Director of Wavesight, says: “IFSEC Southeast Asia each year provides us with the platform to showcase our products to system integrators and end-users. This being our third year at the show, we are confident of leveraging the relationships established over the last two years.”
