The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) has become the first inspectorate to be UKAS accredited for both fire and security systems. Earlier this year, it also achieved UKAS product certification accreditation for security systems.
Its latest achievement is accreditation to the EN 45011 product certification for design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with the BAFE scheme reference SP 203 version 1, 2002.
The NSI has also held accreditation to EN 45012 quality management systems for several years in respect of fire systems, and over ten years for security systems installation. Tom Mullarkey, CE, said it was a “great opportunity” for companies involved in fire detection to grow their business by achieving recognition via an NSI schemes.
