SeeTec, a producer of video management software, and VIVOTEK, a leading IP surveillance solution provider, have announced a cybersecurity cooperation to combat the threat of cyber attacks.
The new solution means that VIVOTEK’s network cameras are armed with Trend Micro’s anti-intrusion software which provides security against brute force attacks, automatically prevents and detects intrusion attempts and instantly controls the extent of the damage.
The SeeTec Cayuga video management system has been tested and certified for use with VIVOTEK’s network cameras which will enable en-to-end IT security for the video ecosystem.
“The IT security level of any video system is determined by its weakest part.” Andreas Beerbaum, Managing Director at SeeTec
“The IT security level of any video system is determined by its weakest part – therefore it is key to not only maintain high security standards for all types of components including cameras, software and infrastructure but also to make sure that there are no security gaps between them.” Andreas Beerbaum, Managing Director at SeeTec
As industry experts predict that by 2020 there will be 30 billion devices connected to the internet, numerous cyber-attacks have shown that IP cameras are hacker’s top targets, because they are constantly connected and offer relatively high computing power as well as good internet traffic throughput.
Shengfu Cheng, Director of VIVOTEK Marketing and Product Development Division, commented, “The debut of our cybersecurity-defence solution has shown VIVOTEK’s commitment of providing our valued customers with the highest quality and:most reliable products. We are pleased to collaborate with SeeTec as one of our strategic partners as both companies continue to drive engineering expertise and investments to deliver value for global users.”
