Hochiki acquire Kentec Electronics

Kentec Electronics announced on Friday that Hochiki Corporation Japan has agreed to acquire the entire stock of Kentec Electronics Ltd.

Its subsidiary company VES LLC will be amalgamated with the Hochiki America Corporation and continue to operate from its east coast base in the United States.

A statement from the Kent-based fire control panel manufacturer said that the transaction will be completed on 1 October 2012 when Kentec Electronics will become part of the Hochiki Group.

The company will continue to be run by its current management team as a separate unit within Hochiki Group and will continue to use existing suppliers.

Customers are being assured that Kentec will continue to support all of its customers, including the current sensor partners products.

The statement also said: "Kentec Electronics believes this is an opportunity to further develop its’ business and allow access to new markets World Wide. The company looks forward to continuing to provide World leading Fire Detection Control Equipment to the Fire Detection Industry World Wide."

Hochiki Corporation Japan was first established in 1918 as Japan’s first fire alarm manufacturer.

In a statement senior managing director Toshio Saito said: "The combined business of Hochiki Corporation and Kentec Electronics will be [sic] provide leading fire detection and control equipment technology that will facilitate the Hochiki Group growth plans world wide.

"Kentec Electronics will continue to operate and service its customers and partners under its own brand."

Kentec Electronics was granted the Royal Warrant of Appointment by Her Majesty the Queen in recognition of its status as an official supplier of fire detection equipment to the royal household.

Mr Saito also explained that any questions about the deal should be directed to Kentec Electronics’ managing director Ray King.
