AMG Systems appoints country head for India

Shanbhag joins from her former role as head of sales and marketing for EFKON (India), a company specialising in ITS solutions for traffic management and tolling.

She has spent more than a decade gaining extensive experience in business development, key account and personnel management, and has been a key driver in formulating marketing strategies, creating new market segments and winning major contracts for the installation of tolling and back-up systems on the Indian highways network.

Prior to joining EFKON, Sheetal worked as sales and marketing executive at IIS Infotech, the concern focused on marketing Cognos integrated business planning, business intelligence and reporting software in India.

Shanbhag has also worked with Air Chem Systems, a company specialising in automatic air dispenser solutions.

Strategic and valuable marketplace

Founder and managing director of AMG Systems, Dr Alan Hayes, commented: “AMG continues to enjoy significant market growth, and India is a strategic and highly valuable market for the company. Given her extensive commercial background and expertise, I’m absolutely delighted that Sheetal has decided to join us.”

Hayes added: “I’m also convinced that our customers and partners in India will benefit greatly from her insight, and the fact that she’s located in Mumbai makes it easy to travel throughout the country for increased end user support.”

Speaking about her appointment, Shanbhag explained: “I have worked with AMG Systems in my EFKON capacity, and know the company and its products really well. AMG offers a truly unique service to its clients. The direct access to free technical support shows the dedication the company puts into each and every project.”

What particularly attracted Shanbhag when deciding to join the company is the fact that, in spite of having grown to be one of the leading companies in its field on a global scale, she feels it still retains a friendly small company feel, and enjoys an excellent reputation and image.

Cutting-edge, acclaimed solutions

“AMG’s products are cutting-edge and highly acclaimed,” continued Shanbhag. “Outside of that, the company has always enjoyed a reputation for delivering products of very high quality.”

India is now a significant market for AMG’s products, with many high profile reference installations. “I’m looking forward to building on that success for continued business development,” concluded Shanbhag.

Sheetal boasts a B.Com from the University of Mumbai, and has also previously pursued a degree in chartered accountancy.
