Final touches being added for IFSEC India 2009

Preparations are on full swing to kick-start the third edition of IFSEC India on Thursday, the country’s biggest international security event, taking place at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Final touches are being added to various stalls coming up at the event. The three-day show will focus on the homeland and internal security market in India, giving Indian and international companies an opportunity to promote their products and solutions to the right audience.

According to M Gandhi, Managing Director, UBM India Pvt Ltd, “The IFSEC India 2009 event along with FIREX India and the new Internal Security India is shaping up to be even bigger than the already successful 2008 event. The addition of a new facet in the form of Internal Security India 2009 specially catering to homeland security market, is all the more reason to attend India’s largest international exhibition for security and fire technology.”

Over 12,000 visitors and over 220 exhibiting companies from 20 countries are participating this year and Internal Security India 2009 is scheduled to be held on 29-31 October. IFSEC India is supported by Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) and the principle founder G4S.

Recognising the potential

The U.S. Commerce Department, by recognising the potential for U.S. industry exports, has certified the event under the U.S. DOC Trade Fair Certification Program.

IFSEC India project director Nigel Luke Brown of United Business Media stated that preparations were on very well and all the exhibitors were involved deeply in promoting and displaying their products and setting up the technology. “So we are expecting to have a lot of live demos also during the exhibition,” he added.

David I. Hudson, MBE, regional president, G4S plc – North Africa, Middle East and Southern Asia, said, “In today’s concerning climate, no one can question the need for good security. Prevention is the key and nowhere are the means to achieving this better demonstrated than at IFSEC.

“This international exhibition has become the platform for showcasing the latest systems and techniques in combating crime and demonstrating how professional security companies are addressing the problems that their clients face in today’s challenging environment.”

Iqbal Singh Jagdeva, president, APSA International, echoed positive sentiments, “Indian security industry is one of the fastest growing markets and IFSEC India has now become an integral part of it. This is a platform for the manufacturers to launch their new products and to find the distributors, distributors are able to find system integrators and system integrators have opportunities in reaching to the users. In all this is a complete show for everyone in the security industry.”
