Kaspersky Lab to invest $1 million in India
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announced that it is expanding its presence in India and will soon be opening a regional office in Hyderabad.
According to Alexander Gnatusin – director of channel, SA, Kaspersky Labs Asia, “The company is also looking at extending the product line in India. In fact, Kaspersky Lab has already been investing in India since the last few years.”
“In the Hyderabad office we will employ only local professionals, alongside simultaneous PR and marketing activities. Thus the size of investments in the Indian market will grow and overall we’re expecting to spend not less than $1 million till the end of 2009,” he added.
According to Q. A. Tapia, head of sales at Zoom Technologies — the official distributor for Kaspersky products in India, “As result of setting up a 24×7 technical support center based out of Hyderabad, several prestigious and key organizations in India such as Indian Railways, VSNL/Tata, IIM Ahmedabad, defense organizations, police departments, key government organizations, financial institutions like financial technologies, SMC Global etc. have reposed their faith in Kaspersky and Zoom because of its excellent support in India.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 launched
Kaspersky Lab also announced the launch of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 in India. Gnatusin said, “Kaspersky’s products are well know in the Indian market; besides they are very light, easy to install, has small size of update and not less when 10 updates of antivirus database per day, which can be installed even on old computer with small size of memory or non speedy CPU.”
Kaspersky Lab experts predict huge growth in the number of new malicious programs over a period of time; a predicted ten-fold increase means the number of malicious programs will exceed 20 million.
