The Fire Industry Association (FIA) has launched an ‘access to foundation’ course for its fire detection and alarm training qualification.
Now available to book, the new course is not part of the qualification pathway, instead giving students a grounding in the subject before they tackle the pathway’s first step.
That first step, the foundation course, conveys considerable detailed knowledge in a short space of time and culminates in an exam. The access to foundation course, which does not include a formal examination, offers a less intensive introduction to the subject.
It could also serve as a useful refresher for anyone retaking the foundation course after failing the examination.
“This course will no doubt please those who are preparing to undertake the qualification pathway but are unsure about their success in the foundation course,” said FIA general manager Martin Duggan.
“The access course is a stepping stone to the qualification path and will help those people that have minimal experience gain confidence in the subject area before starting the foundation course and the rest of the qualification.”
There is a certificate of attendance for completing the one-day course.
Prices start from £150 for FIA Members. Full details of the course content can be found on the FIA website. Find out more on the FIA website.
