New professional register for installers receives more than 200 applications

CTSP registrar Kevin Matthew

Since its launch on 1 September 2017, the Certified Technical Security Professional (CTSP) Register has received over 200 applications to join.

Organisations endorsing the CTSP Register include Tavcom Training, British Security Industry Association (BSIA), Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB) and Dubai’s Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA).

The public register is an opportunity for installers and those who maintain security and/or fire systems to be officially recognised for their competencies and qualifications.

The publicly searchable CTSP Register lets end users and employers confidently select a qualified technical security professional. Applications are assessed by the registration manager, to ensure only those with the necessary credentials are admitted to the register.

CTSP Registrar Kevin Matthew said: “We are delighted so many security professionals have seized the opportunity to have their qualifications, competency and experience recognised on the CTSP Register.”

Core disciplines in the register include video surveillance systems, access control, intruder and hold-up alarms and fire alarms.

The CTSP application process is conducted online and costs £25, with a £50 annual registration fee payable upon successful admittance to the Register.

The registrant becomes part of a certified professional network and has the right to use post-nominals, for example, John Smith CTSP as well as use of CTSP logo on promotional materials.
