A West-Yorkshire based security firm is calling on companies within the industry to promote the opportunities that apprenticeships in the sector present to school leavers, having launched a programme to demonstrate its own commitment.

West Yorkshire-based Triton Security has announced its commitment to promoting the security industry as a career option for school leavers by offering 20 apprenticeship jobs to support this goal.

The business is also calling on others in the industry to do the same.

By engaging with local schools and academies, Triton Security is aiming to raise awareness of the exciting and rewarding careers available in the security industry, it says. The apprenticeship scheme it runs will provide successful candidates with hands-on experience, practical skills, and the opportunity to travel and network with professionals in the field.

As a security business via its 1,000+ employees, Triton offers a wide range of services, including guarding, mobile patrols, keyholding and alarm response, Waking Watch, CCTV installation & monitoring, access control, event security, and more. Through the apprenticeship scheme the Triton team emphasise that academic excellence is not always necessary for success, and that they’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn, hardworking, and motivated to succeed.

With this apprenticeship scheme, the expanding company is excited to offer a pathway for school leavers to join the growing and inclusive security industry.

To promote its apprenticeship opportunities, which include business administration, accountancy and finance, electrical, and joinery, Triton recently held a special assembly at Boston Spa school for 200 students highlighting the benefits of work-based learning. It is planning to expand this initiative to extend its reach to more schools.

Promoting security as a fulfilling and exciting career

Commercial Director of Triton Group, Lauren Paver, said: “Apprenticeships offer school leavers the opportunity to earn a salary while gaining practical experience and developing a range of practical skills. Triton Security has grown significantly over the last two decades, operating on a national and global scale, and our apprentices have the opportunity to travel the world, network with professionals, and gain valuable work experience that will serve them well in their future careers.”

Keen to promote the security industry, Triton emphasises that lifelong, fulfilling careers can be found and that there are opportunities for everyone within security. Regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity, it is keen to show how inclusive the industry is.

The sector is growing, with businesses seeking to protect themselves and their assets in the current economic climate. Triton Security sees apprenticeships as an opportunity to bring new talent into the industry, educate and train them to the highest standards, and offer opportunities throughout the UK.
