Intruder Alarms Quickly Create a Perimeter Intrusion Zone With Wireless Detectors

GJDThe new perimeter intrusion detectors from GJD feature “Ricochet” mesh networking technology to enable wireless interconnectivity.

GJD’s new range of wireless external detectors, the D-Tect MKII PIR range, offers quad PIR detection modules in a sleek IP65-rated housing. The detectors also use Texecom’s Ricochet mesh networking technology, which allows up to 510 wireless detectors to communicate via the Texecom Premier Elite alarm control panel.

The benefit of Ricochet is significant for temporary constructions and heritage site installations where cabling is difficult or impossible. Ricochet-enabled devices receive and repeat wireless transmissions from other devices. The size, scalability, and range of an entire system are extended, as wireless signaling is no longer limited by point-to-point communications.
Each Ricochet-enabled device provides alternative wireless transmission routes so that should a wireless connection between two devices weaken, the network will “self-heal” and automatically reroute communication via alternative Ricochet-enabled devices.

Range

The D-Tect detectors have a wireless transmission range of up to 150 metres and detection ranges of 30x30m or 50x10m, as well as a dual-lens detector with simultaneous ranges of 40x4m and 40x8m.
Powered with two CR123 batteries, the D-Tect range also features front and rear tamper switches to prevent interference and, with the redundancy provided by the wireless communication system, has one of the highest immunity levels to false alarms among PIR detectors.
GJD will be introducing the new D-Tect external devices at IFSEC India, which starts on Thursday 5 December, and offering distributorship opportunities in the region.
