Luxury Caribbean cruise ship secured with Oncam

The 16-deck ship, known as Allure of the Seas, has a capacity for more than 6,300 passengers and around 2,000 crew members. She is believed to be the largest passenger ship ever constructed.

More than 300 IP 360 degrees 5-megapixel cameras have been installed around the ship, many situated in public areas with multiple entrances.

Oncam has also supplied the cameras for Allure’s sister ship, Oasis of the Seas, as well as a number of older ships owned by the cruise company.

James Ionson, CEO, Oncam Global, said: “A well-designed video surveillance system is an important tool for the safety and protection of everyone.

“It provides invaluable assistance to security personnel in resolving incidents, such as helping to identify a noise in the engine room, responding to passenger medical emergencies and determining liability issues, for just a few examples. With the right information, they can appropriately react.

“The cameras’ retrospective feature has enabled surveillance teams to investigate and document questionable shipboard incidents from multiple angles,” Ionson said.

“With the Oncam 360 degrees cameras, in the event of an incident, security personnel can more reliably “get to the bottom of it.”

The Caribbean cruise line offers tour land packages in Alaska, Canada, Dubai, Europe, and Australia and New Zealand.
