Nedap Reveals MACE Smartphone Identification Platform at IFSEC

The new MACE platform has been developed by Nedap to enable its partners to use smartphones as containers of virtual access cards.

MACE consists of readers, apps and a cloud-based server that enable the use of smartphones to identify people.

MACE supports Bluetooth, NFC and QR-codes to identify people using virtual credentials, which are stored in a MACE app. This app will be available for both iPhone and Android from IFSEC on. Meanwhile, QR-codes are used as an alternative in situations where it is undesirable or impossible to use wireless communication technologies.

“Since we have a long track-record in the design and development of RFID readers for the security and parking industry, it is a logical next step to support our partners to unleash the potential of smartphones in their access control systems,” says Maarten Mijwaart, general manager of Nedap Identification Systems.

Nedap will demonstrate its new MACE platform during IFSEC London (21-23 June) at booth E1450.
