Pelco unveils Sarix mini domes

Pre-sale is now underway for the IM-E Series Environmental and IM-V Series vandal-resistant fixed mini dome cameras from Pelco.

With the addition of these new cameras, the Sarix IM series now includes indoor, outdoor and vandal-resistant models.

“The IM-V and IM-E products deliver a compact and affordable solution for customers looking to use the Sarix technology platform in even the most challenging environments,” explained Sara Scroggins, Pelco’s senior product marketing manager.

These two cameras raise the bar for megapixel mini dome performance by delivering auto focus on every camera, low light performance down to 0.03 lux, up to 1.3 megapixel resolution and a built-in camera sabotage analytic.

“With this level of functionality, the IM-V and IM-E series offer a truly remarkable value to our customers,” added Scroggins.

Powerful, resilient, affordable

Powerful, resilient and affordable, the IM-V Series vandal-resistant camera is ideal for correctional facilities, schools, apartment buildings or any location where video security equipment could be at risk.

The IM-E Series Environmental camera is an indoor/outdoor system ready for rain, snow or the most gruelling desert heat.

“This is the latest example of how our imaging engineers have been able to adopt the Sarix technology platform to deliver a new solution for the industry,” suggested Scroggins.

“Our imaging engineers have made tremendous advances with Sarix technology, releasing more than 45 cameras in the first year. This new camera series marks the start of another great period for us, with many more Sarix camera releases still to come.”

Sarix IM-E Series and IM-V Series cameras start shipping in January 2011, but customers can pre-order units as of now.

Pelco hosts ONVIF IP standards development meetings

Pelco recently hosted a series of meetings of the Technical Committee and Technical Steering Committee of ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) at its Clovis headquarters in California.

Originally formed to create standards for interoperability in IP video security, ONVIF has recently established multiple Working Groups to develop a global standard for interoperability between network video products and physical access control systems.

Pelco is actively engaged in making integrated solutions possible, and is a contributing member of ONVIF.

“We recognise that the establishment and adoption of open standards is vital to the success and growth of the IP physical security industry,” said Dave deLisser, director of integration for Pelco.

“That’s why we’re actively participating in the efforts of ONVIF and other standards bodies. Emerging standards are a key part of our comprehensive embracing of open and integrated systems along with our Partner First programme. Here, we’re developing solutions with more than 250 integration partners.”
