Dedicated Micros says its top-of-the-range multiplexer BX2 provides an “unprecedented” level of in-built storage capacity plus a high-end performance record rate of 50 pictures per second. The new-look silver and chrome unit contains four removable disks with built-in RAID controller giving 12 weeks of storage, or 480Gb, at standard rates.
A disk diagnostics function alerts the user via a front panel LED as to whether the disk is performing. “Traffic light” alert colours provide an instant visual check for the operator. The unit also provides built-in
CD-R as standard for operator convenience and ease of use. Image sequences are digitally signed for authentication purposes.
The BX2 delivers direct telemetry control via an ergonomically designed keyboard, swift, seamless control of leading manufacturers’ domes.
A key feature is BX2’s remote network support, allowing system changes to be made without a site visit. System adjustments such as record rates, day/night schedules and activity grid amendments can be made remotely. This remote feature also acts as a training tool for installers and end users.

<B>Three into one</b>

Vista’s new Columbus Triplex DVR joins the existing range of video multiplexers with three simultaneous operational capabilities. It records video from multiple cameras to an internal hard drive while simlutaneously providing playback of recorded images and allowing live images to be viewed, even on the same monitor.
The Triplex’s advanced features include high resolution images at recording rates of up to 50 pictures per second. Multi-screens containing live and played back images can be simultaneously viewed, for instance as eight live and eight playback or 12 live and one playback. It also allows the flexibility of four, ten and 16 input variants, single or dual hard disks, fully upgradeable, network compatibility for global access.
Other features include playback motion search function and enhanced ATM text input, enabling images captured on ATM cameras to be cross-indexed with card data collected from the ATM to be matched to images.

<B>Weatherproofed housings</b>

ClearView Communications has introduced a range of vandal resistant housings with and without integral cameras. The range covers all camera specifications including a colour/mono option.
The housings sport a new ‘7 in 1’ design aimed at easing installation and eliminating the cost of mounting adaptors. Wall, ceiling, ceiling tile and corner mounts are included as standard, maximising flexibility during installation and minimising stock requirements.
Housings come in standard and miniature versions. All are weatherproofed to IP66 with optional heaters of 12V dc, 24V ac and 240V ac. The heaters minimise the cost of power supplies by drawing only 150ma.
