What are the fire risks of Li-ion batteries and how can they be managed?
The use of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries has become increasingly prevalent in many aspects of modern life, such as in portable electronics, electric vehicles, and renewable energy storage. While Li-ion batteries have many advantages, including high energy density, long cycle life, and fast charging capabilities, their safety and sustainability depend on how they are manufactured, used, and disposed of.
There has been a steady rise in Lithium-ion battery (LiB) fires as the number of devices containing them increases. LiB fires have unique attributes and are not like other types of fire, therefore education and awareness are key; as is assessing the fire risk they present to your organisation, having an action plan in place to mitigate the risk and being able to manage the fire event should the worst happen.
When you attend this webinar, you will:
This webinar will cover why Lithium-ion battery fires happen and how to implement a Battery Safe Action Plan to help manage and mitigate your particular LiB fire risks. The webinar will be of particular interest to Health & Safety professionals, Buildings & Facilities Managers and Operations Managers and others responsible for fire safety in all sectors including OEM, manufacturing, warehousing & storage, transport, construction, retail and public sector organisations.
