HID Global has partnered with Samsung to provide mobile access solutions targeting enterprise businesses across the world.
Powered by Seos the solution operates on Samsung smartphones that support both Bluetooth Smart and NFC.
HID Global, the long established access control leader now owned by ASSA Abloy, aims to provide enterprises with a secure and seamless management and door opening experience via the KNOX 2.4 mobile platform that will be integrated into the Samsung Galaxy S6 smart phone.
Enterprises can now deploy HID Mobile Access using Samsung’s advanced Android secure mobility platform in combination with Seos, a privacy-protecting mobile access platform.
The Seos-powered mobile access solution addresses both security and privacy, key concerns in mobility management strategies for enterprises intent on securing people, buildings, and assets.
“Mobility is a top priority for organisations because more employees than ever before are demanding access to the apps and data that will make them productive on-the-go. Whether using their own devices or a corporate-owned device, employees can use this integrated solution to access their workplace conveniently and securely,” says Debra Spitler, vice president of strategic alliances at HID Global.
“We are pleased to partner with Samsung to deliver a versatile secure solution for mobile access across the enterprise,”
Users need to download the HID Mobile Access App to their Samsung mobile device and access doors and gates via NFC or Bluetooth Smart by interacting with iCLASS SE readers from HID Global.
In addition, administrators can issue and revoke Mobile IDs via the HID Secure Identity Services portal.
“By partnering with HID Global, Samsung is able to provide enterprise IT departments with the ability to leverage the Samsung KNOX platform when implementing HID Mobile Access,” says Rick Segal, vice president of Enterprise Business Team, IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics.
“This capability allows enterprises to push the HID Mobile Access application and profile directly to the user’s KNOX container resulting in a highly secure solution.”
