With IFSEC & OSH Arabia now on the horizon (2-4 November at the RICEC in Riyadh), we interviewed one of the exhibitors at the Gulf Region’s premier security, fire and safety trade show.

Roger R Ghostine is managing director for the Middle East and North Africa region at the Harco Group, a distributor of surveillance technology.

IFSEC Global: Why is it important for you to attend IFSEC & OSH Arabia?

Roger R Ghostine: It’s one of the major shows in the area.

IG: What technology can visitors expect to see on your stand between 2-4 November at the RICEC conference centre?

RG: We will be showcasing the new Arecont MegaPixel cameras, the Exacq 6.4 Video Management Software, Nexsan E60 CCTV Storage, DRS Thermal Cameras and Raytec’s IR LED lighting.

IG: What’s the most recently launched product visitors can expect to see in action?

RG: We will be introducing a new thermal CCTV Camera from DRS Technologies to the Middle-East and North Africa region.

IG: How can end users or consultants expect to benefit from visiting your stand?

RG: Consultants and end users will have the chance to witness innovations introduced only at the IFSEC show and not announced or displayed anywhere else.

IG: How can installers or integrators expect to benefit from visiting your stand?

RG: Integrators can share with us their problems and we’ll be showcasing how we can resolve those with new solutions we will be displaying at our booth.

IG: Are you targeting any particular verticals/sectors right now? If so, why?

RG: The government, military, oil and gas, universities, commercial centres, etc.

IG: What are your growth plans over the next six-12 months?

RG: We will be adding more resources to the region.

IG: Any exciting developments in your company we should be aware of?

RG: Yes, many. Some will be announced at a later stage.

IG: In your opinion, what are the most exciting things happening in the security industry right now?

RG: The Vsaas, H.265, 4K, specialized CCTV companies, etc.

IG: If you could persuade government to change one thing about the environment your business operates in, what would it be? 

RG: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia government making it easier on international companies to have local visas without being under the mercy of a local company or sponsor.

IG: How do you see security technology evolving over the next few years?

RG: After-event enhanced analysis, new transmission and compression methods, smaller and smarter cameras, etc.
