£60,000 worth of classic cars up in smoke in warehouse blaze
A man has lost an estimated £60,000 in classic cars after his warehouse was gutted in a fire.
More than 50 firefighters battled a serious blaze at Jenda UK Ltd in Irthlingborough on 21 May.
According to Northamptonshire’s Evening Telegraph, the building contained a Ford Torino, a Dodge Charger and a Chevrolet Impala.
The fire started in a yard outside the warehouse. There were also 15 tonnes of used rags inside the building with 50,000 litres of cooking oil outside in a yard.
Owner Dave Colesellhill was planning to sell the oil for biofuels.
Firefighters fought the blaze from around 9.20 pm to 5.20 am the next day. The building was gutted.
Speaking to local press, Mr Colesellhill, who lives next door to the warehouse, said: “It has burned half of the building down. It’s devastating.
“My little world has come to an abrupt end.”
The incident is now under investigation.
