A giant problem solved

Goliath is in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest horse in the world, all 19.15 hands (6ft 5ins) of him. But at 24 years old (equivalent to108 human years) and suffering from arthritis, he isn’t as steady as he once was.
His owners, at the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre in Great Steeping, Lincolnshire, came up with the idea of using a Scantronic 4600 Radio System to alert them if Goliath has a fall. The Scantronic device fits into the rug he wears at night and, using its tilt sensors, the 4606 Radio Transmitter and 4612 Receiver alerts staff if he starts to topple over. Weighing more than a ton, Goliath simply can’t get up again by himself, so the stable staff lend a helping help to get him back to his feet.
