Abloy makes a Sentry

Designed for use in camlocks and furniture locks, Sentry incorporates a wide range of high security padlocks for use in demanding industrial environments.

The new Abloy Sentry cylinder system also incorporates a patent protected anti-wear key mechanism utilizing high security traditional rotating detainer discs, which provide both durability and long-term performance, the company says.

Sentry has been industry tested to performance level, with results demonstrating its construction is extremely resistant against dirt, salt water and wear, with extended wear life of up to fifty per cent, according to Abloy.

The design and operating principle of the disc tumbler cylinder makes it possible to create dedicated master-key suites capable of meeting most users needs.

The use of a fully symmetrical all metal key incorporated into a one way mechanism combined with dedicated key profiles aims to enable both ease of use and maximum customer security.

Tight key control
Sentry is designed to ensure tight key control and prevents unauthorized key duplication by the provision of sophisticated key registration. Sentry keys can only be cut on a dedicated Sentry Key machine.

Jon Burke, Abloy UK marketing manager, said: “With Sentry, Abloy UK has become the first security specialist, to launch the patented anti – wear system which offers protection against wear and tear, together with its guarantee of maximum customer security.

“And if the standard product doesn’t fit an application, Sentry can be customized to fit specific technical requirements.”

Sentry’s cylinder, keys and key blanks are protected by worldwide patent until 2027 and the design registration is valid until 2035.

The Sentry range is designed to replace traditional Abloy Classic and High Profile key mechanisms currently in use today in cam, push, furniture locks and padlocks. It is not designed for use in door cylinders.
