ADT takes over Wares

The NACOSS approved company, specialists in intruder alarms and CCTV, are based on the Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead. Under Managing Director, Malcolm Southern, Wares employed a staff of 55 who are being integrated into the ADT workforce.
This brings the total ADT workforce in the North East to more than 300, and the company – the biggest installer in the industry – "is aiming to grow at all levels throughout 2001"
Wares has three branches in Gateshead, Leeds and Livingston, and customers throughout Northern England, Scotland and the Midlands who will come under the ADT wing. The company will lose its former name and trade as ADT.
Steve Foster, GM of ADT Fire & Security, Gateshead said: The acquisition is a major feat … and once again emphasises our commitment to the North East.
"The workforce of Wares Security Systems is extremely talented and well trained and will be a huge asset to ADT". The company is now one of the biggest employees in the North East and it hopes to create "a significant number of vacancies" this year.
