Alarms engineer treks to ‘the top of the world’
Preston’s walk involved a 70-mile trek in the rarefied atmosphere of Nepal, up to the base camp of Mount Everest, some 18,000 feet above sea level. He raised over GB pound 3,250 in sponsorship, through the support of friends, family, his employers and their clients.
“I consider myself very fit, but the mountainous terrain and lack of oxygen at that height tested me to the full,” Preston, 36, said.
