Topsoft, the computer security solutions provider, has appointed Tom Parker as non-executive director and Ian Hale as managing director. Tom, whose background is in IT security and cryptography, will be advising on product and marketing strategies. Ian will be responsible for the launch of the company’s new security solutions later this year. He will also be responsible for developing and expanding strategic partnerships in the channel.

<b>John Nolan has been appointed as channel director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region with nCipher, the developer of Internet security products and PKI. Before joining the company, John was European sales manager at Wall Data and then at Network Associates – where he opened the company’s first Irish office.</b>

Kidde, the leading global supplier of fire and safety products, systems and services has appointed two non-executive directors – John Poulter and the Rt Hon John Gummer. Poulter joined Fairey Group as managing director back in 1988, and was appointed chief executive in 1992. John Gummer has been a member of Parliament since 1970, serving as Secretary of State for the Environment and Minister of State for the Dept of Employment.

<b>The new vice president of marketing development for the Visual Interaction Management Division of Nice Systems is Yehuda Katzman. Katzman has over 20 years of marketing experience in the US and Europe. His role is to identify new market opportunities for the division, and lead its worldwide marketing activities.</b&tt;

Three senior consultants from the MoD and defence industry have joined Crew to support the company’s latest defence projects. They are Brian Cummings, a former anti-submarine specialist, Richard Clayton (a lieutenant colonel with the Royal Artillery) and Simon Smith, previously a systems engineering consultant with BAe.

<b>Data recovery and forensic computing company Vogon International has appointed Kay Mushens as international marketing manager. Kay has previously filled international marketing roles at Fluent Europe in Sheffield and at Andover-based materials handling concern SSI Schaefer.</b>

Paul Littlewood has been appointed business development manager at Reflex Systems. Paul has spent 25 years in the CCTV and integrated security systems business. His focus will be to further develop and enhance the company’s market strategy.
