<b>Andrew Vernall</b> has been appointed as operations director with Vision Link (CCF), joining the company after some seven years experience as a security company operations manager in Wales. One of his early tasks will be to co-ordinate and oversee the expansion programme of the company’s monitoring station.
Roller shutter supplier Ring-Gard has appointed <b>Brian Whitford MBE</b> to the position of managing director. Brian (50) has considerable experience in the manufacturing industry, having worked in senior managerial positions for companies such as British Alcan and Racal Health and Safety. He began his career as an engineering apprentice in the aircraft industry and has run his own aluminium window manufacturing company. He was awarded the MBE four years ago for services to the UK safety industry.
Chubb Fire director <b>John Spencer</b> has been promoted to take over the running of all the companies that operate under the Chubb Fire umbrella. They have a combined turnover of GB pound 120m and employ around 1300 staff.
Previously he had headed up the Chubb Fire trade operation managing the Pyrene company.
Entrance controls company Broughton Controls has promoted service manager <b>Jon Broughton</b> to the board as service director. Jon has been with the company for the past 11 years having begun his career on the assembly line before progressing through installation and contracts engineer to services manager.
Broughton has also appointed a new sales engineer for the North East region. <b>Dave Allen</b> joins the company from ADT where he was responsible for the sale of security systems.
<b>John Allum</b> has been appointed as security services manager UK for American Express Services Europe, based in Brighton. A former police officer, John moved into the security industry, working in the manned guarding sector before becoming the head of security for Brighton & Hove Council.
Joining PAC International from County Security, <b>Paul Scott</b> has been given the role of strengthening PAC’s presence in the housing market, predominantly within the London boroughs. With his former company, Paul has four years experience of installing access control equipment in low rise and high rise tower blocks.
Asset/security tagging and auditing company Kodit Database has added <b>Gavin Donald</b> (45) to its sales team. Gavin’s previous experience includes sales positions with Mars Confectionery and the computer graphics industry.
Former general manager of Newmark Technology <b>Narinder Dio</b> moves to the Pearl Security Group as business development director. In his new role he will be seeking to increase national profile and extend the company into new markets at home and abroad.
Other appointments at Pearl include the addition of <b>Gary Jones</b> to the project engineering department and <b>Richard Pipe</b> to the support service department.
CCTV manufacturer Baxall has promoted <b>Steve Procter</b> to UK sales manager from his position as southern account manager. Steve has been in the industry for over 20 years and will now be responsible for the external sales team and the company’s customers.
Following the acquisition of Farsight Surveillance Technologies by Ninth Floor in April, two appointments have been announced. <b>Andy Bromley</b>, former managing director of Farsight, becomes chief executive while Carol Booth, commercial director of Ninth Floor, becomes managing director.
Vision Systems Europe has announced the appointment of <b>Zsuzsanna Csuthi</B> as marketing manager. Zsuzsanna has been working as export area manager for Autronica Fire & Security AS for the last three years and, prior to that, was sales and marketing manager at the company’s Hungary offices.
Several new appointments have been made by Gyyr. <b>Jamie Barnfield</B> joins the company as a sales engineer, specialising in the recently launched digital video management system. <b>Tony Bateman</b> has been appointed as a field applications engineer and <b>Samantha McGregor</b> has taken up the post of sales and marketing assistant. The company has also employed additional operational and customer support staff.
<b>Tony Betka</B> has been appointed as sales manager with KAC, a manufacturer of break glass call points. In a career spanning over 25 years Tony’s experience includes active fire detection and extinguishing systems with AFA Minerva and Cerberus, mechanical sprinkler systems with Preussag and smoke detectors with System Sensor Europe.
