Art of glass: safety ‘first’ at BMW showrooms
A high-strength Armorgard safety window film has been used to upgrade security at BMW’s famed Park Lane showroom in central London – the same film that was used to protect many of the office windows in Bishopsgate (1993) and London Docklands (1996) from IRA bombings.
At Park Lane, the micro-thin polyester Armorgard film has been applied to all the main windows. If the glass breaks, the film actively holds together shards of broken glass to maintain an effective barrier against theft or injury – making forced entry far more difficult.
Time is then on the security manager’s side when it comes to raising the alarm.
