Axis launches its first high def network cam
The Q1755 is aimed at applications where greater image detail is needed, such as airports, passport control and casinos.
The company says the camera’s true HDTV performance is in compliance with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers standard in resolution, colour representation and frame rate.
It has HDTV 1080i or 720 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and supports both H.264 and motion JPEG in full frame rate.
It has a built-in slot for SD/SDHC memory card enabling days of independent recording and PoE supplies power via the network, eliminating wiring costs.
“Intelligent” features include enhanced video motion detection, audio detection and tamper/spray-paint detection. A new Gatekeeper feature zooms in on scene activity and zooms out after a pre-set interval.
“With day and night functionality and progressive output, this camera provides exceptional quality images even for fast moving objects in all lighting conditions – without any motion blur. It features 10x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom paired with auto focus to deliver the desired field of view in perfect focus,” says Axis.
MD Phil Doyle added that H.264 compression “considerably reduced” bandwidth and storage demands.
