Batteries get the blame
As a result of carrying out tests on its sites, the national company has supplied all its service engineers with the Intelligent Battery Tester from ACT which indicates when a battery needs to be recharged or replaced.
Out of 47 systems that had false alarmed for the first time, 26 had deficient batteries. After replacing the batteries only one system required a second visit after a further false alarm. As a result of these findings the company placed an order for 300 testers. (ACT’s MD David Grant told Security Installer that the company did not want to be identified and although we have a policy always to mention names we thought – just this once – the results were more significant than the name of the company …Ed).
